The Pathways Eagles fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Lake Nona Lions on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 61-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (55), Pathways still had to take the loss.
Pathways lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adrian Mutothori, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Steven Edwards was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pathways smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Pathways and nudges their season record down to 12-4. As for Lake Nona, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pathways will take on Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 contests -- so hopefully Pathways likes a good challenge. Lake Nona won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Colonial at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
