Jefferson Davis Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colson Loadholt, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Loadholt is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Reece Still, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Jefferson Davis Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Curtis Baptist only posted four assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Curtis Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wiltrez (Trez) Mincey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards. Mincey has become a key player for Curtis Baptist: the team is 11-3 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 2-6 otherwise. Treivan Wright was another key player, going 7 for 15 to rack up 17 points.
Jefferson Davis Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Curtis Baptist, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-9.
