Trinity Christian is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 30, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 23-6 to Madonna. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Blue Dons recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Josalyn Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Clay-Battelle sidestepped Valley for an 11-9 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cee-Bees in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won six in a row.
Olivia Summers was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Shyann Tennant was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Trinity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Clay-Battelle, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Trinity Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Clay-Battelle struggles in that department as they've averaged .604. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
