6A Three Rivers recap October 1, 2013
West Linn scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Lake Oswego, 7-3. At the time, the Lakers were ranked eighth in the state, while the Lions were 35th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Linn, who defeated eighth ranked Lake Oswego, 7-3.
Dan Sherrell was a force in the backfield as Clackamas defeated Lakeridge.
J.R. Mclaughlin was the best wideout in 6A Three Rivers this week as the Pacers fell to the Cavaliers. Mclaughlin racked up 6 receptions for 152 yards. Joe Sindlinger helped Lakeridge's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 39 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lakeridge's Eric Dungey and Mclaughlin have proven to be a lethal combination. Dungey has thrown for 1,370 yards this season, while Mclaughlin, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 30 catches for 692 yards. Clackamas' Sherrell leads the league in rushing yards with 1,041.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Steve Coury's team and Canby. The Lakers comes into the matchup ranked 14th in the state, while the Cougars ranks 11th.
The Lions were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Lake Oswego. West Linn came in at 16 in the state poll after placing at number 35 last week.
