Choctaw County is 0-3 against Marion since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Choctaw County Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Marion Rams at 6:30 p.m. Choctaw County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Choctaw County struggled with assists on Friday (Southern Choctaw had 1200% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Choctaw County lost to Southern Choctaw on the road by a decisive 67-52 margin. While losing is never fun, Choctaw County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Southern Choctaw is ranked 129th).
Despite the loss, Choctaw County got a solid performance out of India Graham, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Graham scored a full 34.6% of Choctaw County's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jikayla Mosley, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Marion unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 68-13 loss at the hands of Hale County. Marion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-4.
Johnson's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Choctaw County's loss dropped theirs to 0-4.
Choctaw County came up short against Marion when the teams last played back in November, falling 40-29. Can Choctaw County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
