The Broad Run Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Chantilly Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Broad Run is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Broad Run made easy work of Briar Woods and carried off an 11-3 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Spartans have posted against the Falcons since May 16, 2019.

Anna Weltens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Jalynn Diehl was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Avery Walker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Broad Run kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briar Woods only managed seven.
Meanwhile, Chantilly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-2 to South Lakes.
Broad Run is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Chantilly, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Everything went Broad Run's way against Chantilly in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Broad Run made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
