The Dieterich Movin Maroons were the 48-32 winner over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Dieterich fell just short of Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City by a score of 52-50. Dieterich has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Dieterich lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Miley Britton. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Britton scored a full 38% of Dieterich's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Miller, who scored nine points.
Macee Rodman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, shooting 4-for-8 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Rodman's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Ruby Stuckemeyer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Dieterich's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Dieterich will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ramsey at 6:15 p.m. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they will head out on the road to face off against Arthur-Okaw Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arthur-Okaw Christian will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
