The Brownell Talbot Raiders were the 61-41 winner over the Weeping Water Indians when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Brownell Talbot wound up with the same score they had in their last game (45-27), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They found out winning isn't easy when you drain six fewer threes than your opponent.
Brownell Talbot's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Simon Lim, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and John Schinzel who scored three points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
It was another big night for Riggs Wilson, who scored 24 points along with two steals for Weeping Water. Wilson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Bickford, who scored six points.
Brownell Talbot bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.8 points per game. As for Weeping Water, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brownell Talbot will take on Cedar Bluffs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cedar Bluffs is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Weeping Water, they will be playing at home against Sterling at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
