The Sandy Valley Sidewinders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Del Sol at home and fell 67-17. While losing is never fun, Sandy Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Del Sol is ranked 30th).
Del Sol found their leader in underclassman Raina Cobbin, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cobbin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Morgan White, who scored 14 points.
Sandy Valley's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Del Sol, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandy Valley will square off against Beaver Dam at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Del Sol's road trip will continue as they head out to face Canyon Springs at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th.
