The Marshall Academy Griffons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 32-24 win over Pansophia Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marshall Academy.
Marshall Academy was led to victory by Amiah Poindexter and Malia Taylor. Poindexter dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Taylor scored 18 points along with seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Poindexter has scored at least a third of Marshall Academy's points.
Marshall Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Pansophia Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Will Carleton Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. Will Carleton Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Pansophia Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calhoun Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Calhoun Christian will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
