Softball Recap: Bishop Manogue Has No Trouble Against Reno

Bishop Manogue came out on top against Reno on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Miners blew past the Huskies 15-0. The Miners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Sammi Boggs looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop Manogue got a massive performance out of Averie Stephan, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Stephan has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sis King, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Bishop Manogue hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Manogue and bumps their season record up to 15-8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Reno, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 16 contests. That lines up perfectly with their 1-22-1 record this season.

Bishop Manogue will have a chance to go back-to-back against Reno: the pair will be back at it again later today.
