A well-balanced attack led the Filer Wildcats over the Gooding Senators in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Filer blew the Senators out of the water with a 69-36 final score. With that victory, Filer brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Filer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hazel Fischer out in front who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tanli Lemoyne, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Gooding lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Audrey Schilder, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Fallon Millican was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Filer's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Gooding, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Filer will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Idaho (Kimberly is ranked 79th, while the Wildcats are ranked 57th). Gooding is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
