The Sebastopol Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Puckett Wolves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Puckett will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Sebastopol extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Bobcats put the hurt on Leake County with a sharp 15-3 win. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly 12 runs.
Colby Dooley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Sebastopol is 3-1 when Dooley posts three or more RBI, but 5-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Foxx Ferguson was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Sebastopol's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dalton Chamblee, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Sebastopol was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Puckett never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Pelahatchie.
Like Sebastopol, Puckett also got a great game from a two-way player: Truitte Carter. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Carter has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Lawson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Puckett's record now sits at 17-3. As for Sebastopol, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sebastopol has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Puckett struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sebastopol might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Puckett in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
