The Jarrell Cougars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over Bosqueville. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jarrell found their leader in underclassman Aniya Taylor, who scored 28 points. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least 25% of Jarrell's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydyn Edwards, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
Jarrell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Bosqueville, the last time they won on the road was back on Tuesday. Having now lost seven straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 4-8.
Jarrell will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Savio at 12:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Savio is ranked 458th, while Jarrell is ranked 470th). Bosqueville is on the road again on Saturday and play against Sanger at 10:30 a.m. on December 9th. Sanger will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
