The Weber Warriors had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Riverton by a score of 58-51 on Wednesday. For Weber, this counts as revenge for the 55-45 defeat Riverton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Weber found their leader in underclassman Rylee Jugler, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Jugler scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Shupe, who scored 11 points.
Weber's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Riverton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weber will take on Hunter at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Hunter is ranked 79th, while Weber is ranked 99th). As for Riverton, they will be playing at home against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Marlee Reupena and Faythe Stauffer.
