Clay County Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Pineview Christian Warriors 40-26 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Connor Sims and Brodie WATTS. Sims rushed for 173 yards and three scores on only 12 carries while WATTS gained 203 total yards and two touchdowns. Sims' longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Pribbenow, who threw for 102 yards and one TD.
Clay County Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of WATTS and Pribbenow.
