The Sipsey Valley Bears won the last time they faced the Brookwood Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Sipsey Valley was the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over Brookwood.
Despite the defeat, Brookwood saw an underclassman step up: Taylor Crummie scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Mayo, who scored five points.
Sipsey Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Brookwood, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sipsey Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Demopolis at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Demopolis is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Brookwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bessemer City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bessemer City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
