The Jefferson Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alonso. Jefferson has not had much luck with Alonso recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Patty Kilkelly was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 18 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlena Garmendia, who scored ten points.
Jefferson bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Alonso, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.
Jefferson will square off against Chamberlain at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alonso, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillsborough at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsborough presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alonso in Florida (Hillsborough is ranked 190th, while Alonso is ranked 518th).
