The Tri Titans waltzed into Monday's contest with four straight wins but they left with five. They breezed by Blue River Valley at home to the tune of 54-26. Tri might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 28 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylee Boyd, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Boyd has scored at least 25% of Tri's points. Kenley Cornelius was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Blue River Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Holly Polston. Despite the final result, she scored 10 points.
Blue River Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Tri pulled down 15.
Tri's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Blue River Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Tri will head out on the road to face off against Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Randolph Southern is on a three-game streak of home wins, Tri a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Blue River Valley will take on Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Knightstown is ranked 240th, while Blue River Valley is ranked 226th).
