On Saturday, the KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs faced the McKinley Tech Trainers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. KIPP DC Legacy College Prep's tough 68-46 defeat to McKinley Tech might stick with them for a while. KIPP DC Legacy College Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Steele, who scored 13 points. Steele continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Terron Acker, who scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McKinley Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Dunbar, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Alexander Williams was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
KIPP DC Legacy College Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for McKinley Tech, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP DC Legacy College Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Coolidge on December 18th. Coolidge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 483 points over their last seven contests. As for McKinley Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Cardozo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cardozo is on a three-game streak of home wins, McKinley Tech a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
