Baseball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

St. Benedict at Auburndale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Cordova Wolves with a sharp 8-2 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2017.

Carson Twigg was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of St. Benedict at Auburndale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Zeke Ewing was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Looking ahead, St. Benedict at Auburndale will square off against Evangelical Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cordova, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Trezevant at 5:00 p.m.
