The Nottoway Cougars entered their tilt with the Prince Edward County Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Nottoway's way against Prince Edward County on Wednesday as Nottoway made off with a 67-45 victory. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for Nottoway this season.
Leading Nottoway to victory were Eli Geter and Kendreyeus Johnson. Geter scored 11 points, while Johnson scored 19 points along with two steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anton Carter Jr., who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Nottoway's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Prince Edward County, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Nottoway and Buckingham will face off at 8:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Buckingham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 694 points over their last ten matches. Prince Edward County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
