Last Friday, Phoenix Christian put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Heritage Academy to the tune of 56-0. Senior Mark Encinas was the offensive standout of the match for Phoenix Christian, as he passed for 157 yards and 4 touchdowns. Encinas has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, if ASU Prep were riding high off their 48-0 takedown of Heritage Academy two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. ASU Prep were completely outmatched, falling 7-56 to Scottsdale Christian Academy. ASU Prep's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the contest before.
Phoenix Christian's win lifted them to 5-2 while ASU Prep's loss dropped them down to 1-6. We'll see if Phoenix Christian's success rolls on or if ASU Prep are able to steal their positive momentum.
