North Muskegon is 10-0 against Shelby since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Muskegon Norsemen will be playing at home against the Shelby Tigers at 7:00 p.m. North Muskegon is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, North Muskegon got themselves on the board against Holton, but Holton never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Red Devils 64-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for North Muskegon, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Shelby was the victim of a rough 28-7 defeat at the hands of Mason County Central on Thursday. Shelby has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
AJ Melchor put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Melchor was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
North Muskegon's victory was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. They've been dominating across those matches too: they took their wins by an average of 31 points. Shelby has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first eight matchups, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for North Muskegon against Shelby in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-6 win. Does North Muskegon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shelby turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
