Clemente is a perfect 8-0 against Mather since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Rangers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mather will be up against a hot Clemente squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Steinmetz College Prep on Saturday as they made off with a 19-4 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Semaj Beecham, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and one stolen base. Clemente is 10-1 when Beecham posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Morales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clemente kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Mather entered their tilt with Bulls College Prep on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Bulls with a sharp 13-3 win.
Mather got a massive performance out of David Goytia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases and four runs. Goytia is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jadier Castillo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Mather's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Clemente, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clemente has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Mather struggles in that department as they've averaged .457. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Clemente's way against Mather when the teams last played back in April, as Clemente made off with a 10-1 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
