The Uniontown Red Raiders stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Albert Gallatin as Uniontown made off with a 89-63 victory. Given Uniontown's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Albert Gallatin is ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tori Grooms was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Hager, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Albert Gallatin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blake White. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. White has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Mykel Belt was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Uniontown's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Albert Gallatin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uniontown will take on Belle Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albert Gallatin, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Laurel Highlands at 7:30 p.m. Laurel Highlands is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
