Veterans Memorial won against Hanna on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Chargers beat the Los Fresnos Falcons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Arianna Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Nina Longoria and Mia Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Longoria went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits Longoria has posted since back in April of 2024. Itzel Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Veterans Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Veterans Memorial and bumps their season record up to 12-13. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Los Fresnos, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13-1 record this season.

Veterans Memorial has already played their next contest, a 13-0 loss against San Benito on the 15th. As for Los Fresnos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Harlingen on the 15th.
