Huntington has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Diboll Lumberjacks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, everything went Huntington's way against the Hornets as the Red Devils made off with a 54-32 victory. The victory was just what Huntington needed coming off of a 51-26 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, even though Woodville scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Diboll still came out on top. Diboll managed a 66-60 win over the Eagles.
Diboll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachai Mitchell out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Latavian Forney, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Huntington's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-19. As for Diboll, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Huntington lost to the Lumberjacks on the road by a decisive 54-38 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Huntington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
