Buena Vista gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bryan Bears with a sharp 13-3 victory. For the Bison, this counts as revenge for the 14-2 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Julian Ramiez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Ramiez was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Victor Valencia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Jay Brito was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
