Despite the defeat, Caldwell had strong showings from Carter Wheeldin, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Guiler Preston, who scored nine points. Wheeldin is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Caldwell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Buckeye Trail, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caldwell and Waterford will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Buckeye Trail, they will head out on the road to face off against West Muskingum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for West Muskingum: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Buckeye Trail has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
