1A - North recap October 8, 2013
Duchesne extended the longest winning streak in 1A - North this week by beating Diamond Ranch Academy, 33-13. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Altamont lost to Monticello 51-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Wade Netto was a passing and rushing force as Milford beat Kanab.
Netto was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 144 yards as the Tigers defeated the Diamondbacks. Kaydon Noyes also contributed to the rushing game with 73 yards on the ground.
Jerry Cowan's team's Trent Roberts and Matt Muir led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Roberts has thrown for 576 yards this season, while Muir has 9 catches for 271 yards. Noyes from Milford leads the league in rushing with 581 yards.
The top two teams in 1A - North will face off this week when first place Duchesne takes on second place Rich.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on Rich. Duchesne has allowed 47 points this season, while the Rebels have given up 91. The Eagles allowed 13 points last week as they beat Diamond Ranch Academy.
Rich made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,920 from 8,286. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-13 victory over the Cowboys last week.
