The Roane County Yellowjackets will venture away from home to square off against the Heritage Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Roane County will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
On Friday, Roane County beat Wartburg Central 5-1.

Sailor Presley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Hamilton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Heritage came out on top against Loudon on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Mountaineers put the hurt on the Redskins with a sharp 13-4 win. Considering the Mountaineers have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Roane County, Heritage also got a great game from a two-way player: Payton Hasty. On the mound, Hasty pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Elishia Byrd pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Hasty posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last seven contests. At bat, Hasty went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Byrd went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Heritage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Roane County's record now sits at 14-1. As for Heritage, their record is now 14-8.
Roane County might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Heritage in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
