It was a good run, but the Bellefontaine Chieftains unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Greenon. Bellefontaine was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greenon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.
Bellefontaine lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lexi Robinson, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quinlan Zedeker, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bellefontaine's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7. As for Greenon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellefontaine will stay at home for another game and welcome London at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. London and Bellefontaine are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Greenon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairbanks is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
