Sanborn Regional waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Stark Generals get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Not much got past Phoebe Hood, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Stark off the board. Hood has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hannah Lambert was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailey Boyd, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Sanborn Regional's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Stark, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
