Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Bolivar Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Taylorsville on Friday, falling 56-0. While losing is never fun, West Bolivar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Taylorsville is ranked 105th).
Among those leading the charge was Cobey Craft, who rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Jamarion Ulmer was another major influence, as he rushed for 38 yards and ran in a TD.
West Bolivar are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Taylorsville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
West Bolivar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taylorsville will stay at home for another week and welcome Lumberton at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Lumberton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
