Carlsbad won the last time they faced Portales and things went their way on Thursday too. The Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls took their contest with ease, bagging a 68-39 win over the Portales Rams. The Cavemen/Cavegirls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Portales' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Patrick Alvarado, who posted five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Pierce Culpepper, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Carlsbad has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.2 points. As for Portales, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Carlsbad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-46 loss against Santa Fe on the 3rd. As for Portales, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-35 defeat against Pojoaque Valley on the 3rd.
