The Anaheim Colonists fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Savanna by a score of 28-21 on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Anaheim, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Anaheim was led to victory by Mj Fernandez and Jason Garrett. Fernandez threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns, while Garrett picked up 130 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Dorsi, who rushed for 111 yards on only 15 carries. Dorsi was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Fabrissio Ramirez was in the mix too, providing Savanna with two touchdowns.
Anaheim now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Savanna, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anaheim will take on Western at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Western presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anaheim in California (Western is ranked 105th, while Anaheim is ranked 887th). As for Savanna, they will be playing at home against Magnolia at 6:30 p.m. on October 27th.
