Having just played yesterday, the Youngker Roughriders will get right back to it and host the Sierra Linda Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Youngker and seven for Sierra Linda.
On Tuesday, Youngker came up short against Washington and fell 56-44. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Youngker in their matchups with Washington: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Sierra Linda fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Metro Tech on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Youngker has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Sierra Linda, they dropped their record down to 1-21 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Youngker suffered a grim 62-42 defeat to Sierra Linda in their previous meeting back in January of 2015. Can Youngker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
