Pinecrest Academy Cadence is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30.7 points per game this season.
Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will be up against a hot Pinecrest Academy Cadence team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Pinecrest Academy Cadence really took it to Cheyenne for the full four quarters, racking up a 37-0 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Desert Shields are ranked 44th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence can attribute much of their success to Amelia Woolard, who rushed for 78 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and Patricia Monacelli, who picked up 45 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Monacelli led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 54 points the game before, Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They came up short against Virgin Valley, falling 34-8. The Pirate were down 27-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Manahere Peters picked up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points per game. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
