Watertown fell to Mitchell 7-21 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Watertown blew past Mitchell 40-19. Watertown was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Watertown got off to a sluggish start, posting 0 total points in the first half. That left them at a 0-12 disadvantage. The Watertown offense took control in the second half, however, scoring 40 points. This was the first game for both teams, giving Watertown a 1-0 record and starting Mitchell off at 0-1.
