The Kenwood Bluebirds and the Parkville Knights will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kenwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Kenwood's 17-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Forest Park 75-39 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Kenwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Forest Park is ranked 74th).
Neo Feehan put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dasan Johns, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 26-26 at halftime, Parkville was not quite St. Paul's equal in the second half on Saturday. Parkville took a hard 63-47 fall against St. Paul's.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cameron Alexander, who scored 11 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Anthony Council was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Kenwood's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. Parkville's record is now 3-2.
Kenwood was dealt a bruising 73-44 defeat at the hands of Parkville in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Can Kenwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
