Baseball Recap: King's Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but King's Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Saint Andrew's Scots 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three contests in a row.

Alexander Hansen tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Nolan Payne and Alec Cabrera did most of the damage at the plate: Payne went 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base, while Cabrera got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Aiden Strompf was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

King's Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Saint Andrew's, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4.

King's Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Saint Andrew's: the pair will be back at it again later today.
