AA District 5 recap November 5, 2013
Sequoyah extended the longest winning streak in AA District 5 this week by beating Sweetwater, 54-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Chiefs.
Sequoyah led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on the Wildcats. Brett King threw for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 75 yards in the win.
Bill Satterfield's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Drew Carson chipped in 101 yards. Beau Grimes helped Sequoyah's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 50 yards.
King put up the best numbers in passing as the Chiefs topped Sweetwater. King's favorite target this week was Garrett Dalton, who caught 7 passes for 99 yards.
Sequoyah's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Chiefs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. King has thrown for 1,964 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Dalton has 55 catches for 903 yards.
Going into this week's contest against Chattanooga Central, Sequoyah's King needs 36 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Chiefs' Dalton is only 97 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Pounders. So far this year, he has garnered 55 catches for 903 yards.
King broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 57-yard run against the Wildcats. Sequoyah bested Sweetwater, King finishing the game with 75 yards rushing.
