The Williams Field Black Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the San Luis Sidewinders at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Williams Field is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Last Monday, Williams Field made easy work of Dobson and carried off a 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Black Hawks, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jaxon Valdez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Valdez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Jaxin Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
Back at the plate, Williams Field let Silas Stephens and Ryan Teran run wild. Stephens scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Teran went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Teran has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Albers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Williams Field was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, San Luis came up short against Southwest EC on Tuesday and fell 7-2.
San Luis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Gonzales, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Williams Field's record is now 4-1. As for San Luis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Williams Field's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. Williams Field has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game.
