The Navarro Panthers waltzed into Saturday's match with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cuero 38-36. Given Navarro's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Cuero is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tegan Harborth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with 9 rebounds. Sienna Kramer was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Despite the loss, Cuero still got an impressive performance from Arissa Carbonara, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was Carbonara's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lainee Ballin, who scored 6 points.
Navarro's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Cuero, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
Navarro will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Medina Valley at 6:15 p.m. Cuero is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Poth at 6:15 p.m. on December 5th. Poth will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
