The Gateway Science Academy Gators are on the road again on Monday and play against the Parkway South Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on December 4th. Gateway Science Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Parkway South likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Gateway Science Academy earned a 63-53 victory over Sumner. The victory was just what Gateway Science Academy needed coming off of a 92-64 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Parkway South's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Parkway West. Parkway South has struggled against Parkway West recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braden Eye, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Ahearn, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Gateway Science Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Parkway South, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Gateway Science Academy ended up a good deal behind Parkway South in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, losing 74-57. Thankfully for Gateway Science Academy, Jaylen Calloway (who scored 23 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
