Having just played yesterday, the Fleming Island Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Ridgeview Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fleming Island comes in on three and Ridgeview on five.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Fleming Island took on Episcopal School of Jacksonville on Monday. Fleming Island walked away with a 54-41 win over Episcopal School of Jacksonville. The Golden Eagles pushed the score to 47-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fleming Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Seven Gourdet, who posted 11 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most steals Gourdet has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Noble, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points.
Meanwhile, Ridgeview hadn't done well against Ponte Vedra recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ridgeview enjoyed a cozy 50-36 victory over Ponte Vedra.
Fleming Island better focus on containing Narissa Blocton and Nacoya Blocton as the pair were huge in Ridgeview's win. Narissa had 22 points and five steals, while Nacoya went 8 of 19 on her way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Narissa's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
Fleming Island pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Ridgeview, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fleming Island has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Ridgeview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fleming Island was taken down by Ridgeview 53-26 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Fleming Island avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
