It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Washington Township Minutemen had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Rancocas Valley by a score of 19-7. The win was nothing new for Washington Township as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Washington Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Perez, who picked up 155 receiving yards and a touchdown. Perez's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards.
Washington Township pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Rancocas Valley, Atlantic City, and Winslow Township. As for Rancocas Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Washington Township will head out on the road to face off against Toms River North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Toms River North is ranked 11th, while Washington Township is ranked 22nd). Rancocas Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
