The Scituate Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Ponaganset Chieftains at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Scituate is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Saturday, Scituate lost to the Scarlet Knights on the road by a decisive 55-37 margin. Scituate has not had much luck with the Scarlet Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Andy Vigeant, who scored 11 points.
Ponaganset can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past Exeter-West Greenwich with a 49-44 victory.
Scituate's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Ponaganset, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
Scituate took a serious blow against the Chieftains in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 65-31. Can Scituate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
