The Carthage Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Branson Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carthage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Branson likes a good challenge.
Carthage pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-60 to Nixa. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), Carthage still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, even though Carl Junction scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Branson still came out on top. Branson took their match against Carl Junction 71-58. The win made it back-to-back wins for Branson.
Carthage's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Branson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Carthage came out on top in a nail-biter against Branson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 56-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carthage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
